Our latest testimonial submitted on 02/21/2012 by Dave & Faye
Beaver Home Builders recently completed a significant renovation/expansion to my 80 year old home in Holston Hills. The project easily exceeded my expectations for style, lasting quality construction, on-time completion and adherence to budget. Our architect designed a plan to double the size of our kitchen by taking down the the exterior wall and expanding into the back yard. We also opened a wall to our living room, gutted the walls and ceiling and rebuilt the staircase. In addition, we added a fantastic screened in porch with a fireplace, vaulted ceiling, flagstone floors and cedar posts. My wife and I huddled in the basement during construction so we had a good look at what was going on. The project was scheduled for four months and took four months. Not one day went by without progress. It is hard to say what impressed me most:
The quality of the contractors: all were polite, on-time professionals that did their job to the highest standards. That includes the framers, brick masons, carpenters, electricians, plumbers, floorers and trim carpenters. For instance, the flooring company installed new oak floors and completed the stain and seal process. We were pleased, however, the owner, upon inspection, rejected his company’s work as inadequate and once again sanded and stained the floors. Many of the workers became part of our lives and there was a bit of emptiness when they finished and were no longer around. Finally, each day ended with a clean-up of the job site. There was no litter or rejected building materials cluttering my back yard at day’s end.
The constant attention and on-site presence of Richard Beaver: Richard takes only a few projects at a time and resulting attention to detail is apparent. He was on-site daily and his interaction with us, his contractors and our architect resulted in constant improvement to the original plans. From suggesting new materials to adding innovation to trim work, his expertise and attention to detail added a result that far exceeded the original vision of the project.
Follow-up: Our project “officially” ended a few months ago. But today, as I write this endorsement, I have an expert painter in the house caulking and touching up trim and dings in the kitchen and living room that are an inevitable part of houses settling and workers working. I did not expect Richard to inspect the house months after completion and send his guys in, but that is part of the experience of working with Beaver Home Builders.
